Katanas are slasher weapons made for cutting masterfully through human flesh so obviously it’s not gonna get through a fucking longsword which is really fucking thick and heavy and made for beating the shit out of people as well as hacking at armour

I love when people don’t get the differences between the purposes of weaponry. Samurai Yori (armor) is a composite of wood and metal plates. Katanas were made for deflecting and blade to flesh contact. Not blade to blade or blade to metal. Medieval armor is made of hardened steel plates. Long swords are meant for blade to blade and blade to metal combat. most of the time what killed was the blunt force trauma caused by the blade to armor or the piercing from the tip.
TL;DR: These two weapons were never meant to be compared like this because their use was so different.

jake is pretty wise
I love this scene so much, and you know why?
That was Jake’s favorite cup. One of his favorite possessions and he throws it out the window to help teach Finn something important about life that we all need to learn: To stop worrying about small things.
Yeah, he does go get it later, but he had no way of knowing that the cup wouldn’t break. For all he knew, it really was gone forever. And he was okay with that, because it would help him teach Finn something he needs to know.
